Phenomics is transforming the way scientists research plant characteristics by combining cutting-edge imaging and computational tools. During this session, high-throughput platforms capturing morphological, physiological, and biochemical characteristics under various conditions will be emphasized. Imaging approaches like hyperspectral, thermal, and 3D scanning for measuring growth, water use, and stress response will be demonstrated by experts. Case studies will demonstrate phenomic breeding strategies for drought resistance and high-yielding crops. Focus on integration with genomics and AI-based data analysis will be given to predictive trait modeling. Challenges in scaling phenomics for use in the field and precision agriculture will also be discussed during the session. Attendees will understand how phenomics fills the gap between genotype and phenotype and will hasten crop improvement programs against global challenges.
